Hello from Clare Tyas, Artist.

Welcome to my website, GingerArts, thank you so much for choosing to look at my Artwork.

Clare Tyas was born in West Yorkshire in 1973. Ever since an early age she was passionate about and fascinated with drawing and painting.

Studied at Dewsbury Art College, then a BA Hons degree in Fine Art and illustration at Leeds Bradford College of Art.

After the opportunity to study Art, explore and pursue my artistic skills I started to develop my own unique personal style. Which is a distinctive, lively,vibrant, rich in colour, natural composition of light and space.

Capturing a memory from a sketch, a notion, a feeling, a page in a diary, a soulful feeling – putting a daily frame of mind into Art.

My belief is that Art should be for everybody. Creating a sense of joy, warmth, and a smile. Capturing a moment in time.

Real– authentic – with a quirky fondness – art to create a smile.

Clares art is richly coloured, vibrant yet grounded. Water colour is a medium she often uses, but with such detail and personality, her artwork is more than just landscapes and animals – they capture the spirit of the subject: its mood,quirks and character.

Clares townscapes and landscapes are ‘highly detailed’ often with a playful, almost cartoon-quality feel, yet deeply rooted in observation.

Clare gives animals more than anatomical realism; she gives them presence and a soul.

Clares Art is about joy, warmth, memory and pause. Its not just about visuals, it is about evoking a feeling: home, quiet delight, nostalgia, the calm you get when noticing light on a stone wall or mist hanging in the valley.

From the quiet lanes of North Yorkshire and the Lakes, Clare Tyas has always had a sketchbook in hand. As a child she wandered the fields, watched animals, noticed the light shifting across the hills. When she paints now in her creative workshop in Ingleton, she is painting more than the scenery: she captures, memory, mood and personality.

GingerArts is her way of sharing these moments. Art made real and warm for homes full of memory, people and stories.

So, when you bring a piece of GingerArts into your home, you are bringing more than paint: you are bringing stories.
